We took the Scoob for a spin out in the countryside last night, trying to find somewhere away from the light pollution .
Eventually found a good spot near Belvoir Castle. Saw a few good shooting stars and gave the Scoob a workout down some country lanes - top fun all round!!
Saw a few other peeps staring up at the sky, including a couple in cabriolet - roof down, seats back - good plan!

No i didn't, and i'm disappointed that i didn't.
You had to look East at 10pm didn't you?
Well i did, and didn't see anything. Maybe the street lights were too bright. Was it only last night or is the show on again tonight?

Yep, we watched them. Some good ones too.
Interestingly on the way to work this morning, I saw a black trail across the sky, that was dead straight. It cross a few jet trails, which were white and not as straight.
It looked like a big one had gone through, not burning up completely at high altitude and the black line was the burnt atmosphere that it created. It was very noticeable.
Heard the current shower are the fastest ones, travelling at 37 miles per second

Stood outside for just over an hour. Saw lots of stars, 1 satellite, 2 aircraft and no meteors. Unlucky or what? Think this is the first time I've looked for meteors and not seen any
Did spot the Andromeda galaxy in binoculars though.

We had a fantatsic display over Hertfordshire. Sal and I were round her parents place which is detached and by the river, so light polution is not so bad. We knocked back a couple of bottles of red wine and watched the 'show' for about an hour. Lots of 'oohs' and 'aahs' - just like being at a firework display

I looked about 11.30pm - dead clear nite - you saw lots of little tiny ones every few seconds - so small you could hardly tell if they were real or not - then every 4 or 5 minutes a real corker went across - REALLY fast - some of the big ones left a greenish trail in the sky for a second or so afterwards.
This was in a semi rural town - west midlands area.
You could see them all over the sky - not just in one place.
