Press: "Outrage over Blair knighthood"
Scoobynet: "Meh!"
Knighthoods don't even register to me nowadays since the realms of lower oder Batchelor/OBE/CBE/MBEs etc. are filled up with either woke celebrity hypocrites, corrupt bankers and civil sector jobsworths.
And traditionally PMs were always offered an honours after stepping down, so I assumed Blair (and Brown/Cameron et al) had declined them as they'd became a dirty association as Saville and Goodwin at the time did/still hit a raw nerve with the public and the recession/banking crisis at the time would have caused a pretty sour backlash.
But, didn't realise it was a Garter Knighthood: A few died over the past year so there's a few vacant slots at the table now. So with John major as the Tory influence, was there need for a Labour associated member to draw a perceived balance? TBH. I don't care

Normally it’s a lollipop lady or an ice cream man who get one. This one has slipped through the net

Blair wasn't on the List - this is a Personal appointment from the Queen :
to quote the Guardian
"Tony Blair is to be knighted with the highest possible ranking in the new year honours list, Buckingham Palace has said.
Blair, who held the keys to No 10 between 1997 and 2007, will be appointed a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior British order of chivalry.
The appointment, which is made by the Queen, has regularly been bestowed upon past prime ministers, with Sir John Major – Blair’s direct predecessor – the last to receive the honour."

Whilst I accept there are various ways you can view the wars in the middle east of the early 21st century, it would, in fact, be Bush, who was responsible as the instigator, who is the mass murderer, not Blair. Blair simply followed. Blair is the Mussolini in this, not the Hitler.

Yes, and I don't know why we do it. We go on about some special relationship that we and the USA have, but it's more like an abusive relationship and we do anything to keep the abuser happy! The US supplied the Germans with materials for their war machine, officially, up until Germany declared war in 1941, and even unofficially after that! They then charged us through the nose for the stuff they gave us, which we only paid off recently, and have consistently refused to share various technologies with us. Wait until we try and do a decent trade deal!
We really are their bitch

Not to forget being used as a parking space for nukes aimed at the Ruskies.
Of course they first stole our nuclear weapons tech shared by us during the Manhattan project and then cut us off under the McMahon Act. But then amended it when they realised we were a strategic launch location (hence UK warheads fitted on USA delivery systems).....Yep, "Special" relationship.
