Default Dual Carriageway Litter Bug

I often wondered how so much rubbish ends up on the side of dual carriageways . . . Saw something that I'd never seen before. Passed a bloke on a quiet dual (A69, just outside Hexham last night). Saw him open his driver's side window in my rear view. He pulls into the outside lane and dumps his can and paper waste onto the gravel between the carriageways, all at motorway speeds. What a lazy, messy twot. What makes folk think that's a good idea? Really boils the urine.

This really gets me too, I hate seeing litter strewn along the roadside. The culprits who do this are just lowlife IMHO.

To rehabilitate the litter yobs and teach them the error of their ways, offenders should be stripped naked, nailed to a tree by the side of the road and their offence branded into their chests with red hot irons. Leaving them hanging from their nails for a week would probably deter the others too. Not sure what to do with them after that

I think that's slightly OTT. I think 3 days hanging by their nails would do it?

After that they could have a simple ceremony where they are buried alive in a land fill.

Ok, 3 days hanging from the nails, then buried alive in a landfill with their heads sticking out. Passers-by would then be obliged by law to whack the heads with a provided cricket stump, or join them. After a month they would be dug up and released with a warning not to do it again. And I bet they never would!

Nearly all the litter I see round here has 'McD....' written somewhere on it. I propose that anyone using McD have to produce an identity card and the firm have to print their name, postcode and house number on every item of packaging before handing it over.

Paben's excellent idea, coupled with the subsequent amendments, would seem a reasonable course of action should any of the packaging 'accidentally' find its way into the landscape.

Nice revenge but perhaps even better to lob in a bucket of paint (or worse). This could herald a new trend but would require a quick getaway bike!
