Regarding gunning it, the Silverstone experience days I have done. You drive very hard in the dry, full throttle down the straights. Only when it is wet they ask you to feather the throttle a bit more on the bends. Long straights are still full power but longer braking distances.

I have one booked on the 18th at dunsfold. Xmas gift and I only just got in before the expiry went out, but when I booked the experience I had wasn't available any more, so had to choose another and got three supercar experience instead of two.
I've chosen Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston but really should have chosen the atom instead of the Aston. I've heard that the GTR is supposed to be the best car, but disregarded it because I thought it is probably too good at everything it might be a bit boring, but have since heard otherwise.
I did a rally course on Monday, in an RS2000 and Lancer Evo 8. Went first in the escort, which is more fun than the Evo, as it's all about handbrake and power slides, and the Lancer was about chucking it in off throttle and getting the weight transfer to slide you round the corners.

I did one with Virgin the 4 car one had a Gallardo, GTR 360 and Atom...
The Atom was awesome though you never really get to use it as they get you to change gear at low RPM and have a kill switch in case you get excited!

The Atom is a super car slayer but for the experience and theatre of it all I would struggle to get past the 640.
I've driven a Gallardo, F430, DB9 and a Vantage.
The Lambo and Fezza were very similar. The Vantage felt streets ahead of the DB9 as that was just a big cruise boat.
ive spoken to a few people who opted for a GTR and they rave about it being a far better experience than a Ferrari or Lambo.
I'll probably book a 2 car day for myself soon and I would lean towards the McLaren and Atom

Just got back from the TG test track. It was a lot busier than I expected, a lot more people and cars there. A few of the other drivers seem to just bimble around so get in the way a little bit but all in all an enjoyable experience.
First up was a Ferrari 430 spider. The lad who instructed me seemed not much older than my lad. I thought that might bode well and he may be keener to let me play a bit more but the instructors in the other cars were more relaxed about that than he seemed. Lovely car to drive, nicely weighted and precise steering, rapid gear change (paddle shift box), sharp brakes and sounded great.
Next up, Aston DB9. The instructor was a lot better in this one, encouraging to overtake slower traffic. Very slow gearbox compared to the Fezza. This example had around 90k on the clock, and felt a little tired, a bit shaky, especially under hard braking. It is what it is, a heavy grand tourer, but it pulled well and the 6 litre V12 sounded absolutely stunning.
Last up, Lamborghini Gallardo. 483bhp of howling V10. . . . . Nah, f**k that! they've got an Aventador LP700 sitting there.
This . . . This car is just bonkers. The instructor was great, and after getting a bit of heat in the carbon brakes let me get round the track at a pretty brisk pace, passing anything and everything else on track. Steering has a slightly electric, artificial feel about it and the car feels huge, a little heavy but planted. The gearbox was as rapid as the Ferraris, the brakes lacked the initial bite but it is a heavier car, I was going a lot quicker in it, and with more heat in them they would probably feel better. The way this car accelerates though!
The interior of this car is just simply stunning, way better than the other two with quality everywhere you looked. The Aston just seemed a bit old hat, all leather and wood but was looking a bit ropey in the car I drove. The Ferrari looked like it wasn't quite finished off properly inside.
