Power washers work a treat, but my advice is don't do it. Once the missis sees how clean they can be she'll be wanting you to clean them every 6 bloody months.

Speaking from experience!

Pressure washers are cool

Don't pour neat bleach on em tho They go all stripey and look stoopid for months, and you get told off by your mum and dad

Brick Acid is pretty good for oil stains... but pressure washer is good, but start from a distance..

so you sort of took tie dying to extremes then bob?

Jeyes fluid and a pressure washer. Once they are spotless paint them with Ronseal rain guard (the stuff that is designed for brickword.) After that - 10 minutes with the garden hose once a onth will keep them spotless.

FB - would that work for monoblocking too? (not that I fancy painting my driveway mind... )

Fed up with it ~ think it's actually the "wrong" type of brick ~ spent 18hrs total jetwashing it last summer and it's all slippy & mossy again. Folks next door (which hasn't been cleaned in 3yrs we've been at our house) is better!

Mik - you get 'special' stuff for monoblocking. Its basically the same, but helps bring the colour up if its faded. Cost me about 40 quid for the stuff to do mine, but it is worth it to avoid standing there for hours on end cleaning each individual block without blasting the sand and crap out of the spaces. (pathclear is good for getting rid of the green stuff)
