Default Think I might leave ebay.....

Last year a seller failed to send an item...only £8, but I was away so ebay refused to do anything about it as I reported it too late.

Recently I've reported two sellers who are insisting on cash, and now a third. Ebay seem uninterested, ignored the first two, allowing both sales to go through.

They SAY they will look at both accounts, but as I said, how is that supposed to help me?
And why are they ignoring it if it's against ebay rules?

Protect the seller not the buyer again?

If it is collection only I don't see the problem.

Having been shafted on ebay before via paypal (send a spoiler out to a guy with loads of pics - was in perfect condition - properly wrapped.. He received it and says its broken with damage all over. He arranged courier and didnt insure item).

He filed a case and got his money back (£65) and I got the a broken spoiler back. I was 99% sure it was not the spoiler I sent due to the various different damages that couldnt have happened in transit IMO. So now if I ever sell anything I insist on cash on collection only or i'd rather not sell and just bin the item for the hassle one gets..!!

Raf.

I found a car on ebay that was 100% a ringer in a false shell. Had it confirmed, informed ebay with all the evidence and they still let it sell.

I give up with them.

Similar situation with one of our local BABS members a couple of years back. Car was stolen and broken up. Pictures of easily identifiable parts appeared on ebay. Him and a couple of us got involved with the police and ebay and not a bloody thing was done about it.

I remeber pulling a thread on here about a bloke's stolen scoob with various pics identifying it.

It was removed as the owner had found parts of it on eBay and didn't want to spook the seller (as usually some feejit from here will contact the seller and act like a smart ****). The advert had a picture of the engine on a pallet - it was intentical to the one in his stolen car..even down to the colour of the aftermarket hoses.

Never found out what came of it, but I guess Police and ebay left it go un-noticed.

Pretty certain I found my stolen Breitling on ebay....how do I prove it though?

That's the one Ali. The best advice the police would give us was to 'Go round there with a bunch of mates and get it back. But mind you behave yourself'.
Unbelievable!

Yeah, somehow it's not a crime unless they can stop you in your registration-plated car, find you on their database, or take a photo and send you the bill.

What a bunch of fukcwits.

"Buy it" offer to collect and pay with cash (if it is stolen, the seller would probably prefer cash anyway rather than transact via a bank account or paypal) and pop rouind with some mates to "enquire"

Job done

Was already sold: Its a 1960's Top Time...They didn't have serial numbers.

I can only ID it by the strap which is a cheapy and its overall condition is very similar, if I could get a better image of the chronograph dials, the one has a very faint scratch. But piccies weren't clear enough.
