Default Hideous Advert on Tv

Is it just me or does anybody else dislike the new advert for Money Supermarket with the guy who struts down the street in a jacket and a pair of skin tight hot pants.
It shows Sharon Osbourne at the end of it.
It actually makes me cringe when it comes on and I have to switch over...

It really disturbs me to even hear the music starting..
ugghhhhhhh..........

I think it's quite entertaining.

It makes me think of some people, who, with their own admission, like cross-dressing for their fetish.

Bizarre

Timed to coincide with this lot and others being hauled over the coals for NOT giving their customers all the choices..!

I had a feeling what advert the OP was referring to before I clicked the thread. IMO it's a dreadful advert and I pick up the remote and change channel as soon as it comes on until it's over. As said above made to get people talking about the product but it wouldn't make me want to use that service putting silly adverts on the TV like this.

Shame, I didn't even get to see the insult.

The ad is perverse though.

Maguire, the comment referred to was me opining as to why 'people' like you feel it necessary to use insulting terms about homosexuals. I RTM'd your comment and the mods removed both of your posts and both of mine (the other of which was not an insult as such, but a complaint about your repeated use of such terms and what might one day happen to you if we are lucky).

Take the hint your insults are unwelcome. You can hold whatever views you like, but don't voice them on here.

No place or excuse for homophobic slights. There should be an instant ban for those that make them.

Yes although i often get railed for suggesting that anyone on this board is in any way misogynistic.... of the three it seems the more accepted for some reason!

You were railed on this board for pointing out homophobia and racism many times as well. I hope misogyny also gets better understood and better dealt with, here; one day.

Yes, true enough and I suspect when Maguire pops back in later it will happen again.

Anyway in my opinion it is a harder issue dealing with misogyny.

With racism and even homophobia people get it and the perpetrators even realise what they say is not really acceptable, but their long time learned prejudices override common sense and decency.... and then some are just thick of course.

With misogyny it's more often than not a complete lack of understanding as to how some men's behaviour makes women feel. They fundamentally can't understand it and that is why it it so difficult to deal with and address. I have met blokes that actually think the way they treat and think about women as more or less second class citizens is absolutely fine and they come out with things like 'she knows her place' or my personal favourite, the 'token woman' comments in the workplace etc.

We have a long way to go that's for sure.

It's a lot less annoying than that smug blonde woman putting down poor old Colin at every opportunity!

Yes they were, Swati.

I removed some comments from the thread as some were using unacceptable terms, and some were effectively baiting. The reason I removed both types was in order for what wasn't on, to be gone, and for the thread to hopefully not turn into yet another bitchfest.

Sadly I missed one comment which allowed an in road for the sniping to continue.

The comments were removed, so that should have been the end of it, at least on this thread. If people want to discuss the general issue of inappropriate or offensive comments, members conduct, moderation etc. then feel free to pop to the policy section and do so there, preferably in a civil manner.
