I think they should ask all the people he and his cronies hounded through the courts and the media for attempting to expose him whether he deserves redemption

I guess in truth, he was just part of the system back then
But forgiveness, thus suggesting he's good guy, possible role model
Hardly , not when other innocents have been tarnished/fcuked over

It's not just that he cheated. It's the way he forced those around him to cheat too. If you didn't then he made sure that your cycling career was over.
By surrounding himself with others who also took performance enhancing drugs it was almost a kind of protection.
I think that it's a shame that his victories have been disallowed though, as the cyclists that he was competing against at the time were also taking drugs. So, in essence, he was playing on a level playing field. If you look at the other big names from the era you'll find that many were caught cheating!

I forgive him. Although he never really personally let me down tbh. I think for the wider world to begin accepting his apology he should sit down with those he tarnished on camera, apologise and take whatever stick gets thrown at him and really own the deed. If he doesn't want to drop those above him in the brown stuff so be it, but at least fully own the lies in front of those he ridiculed, inc the press and move on.
Regardless of the methods he undertook, he and his team weren't the only ones at it and it is human natureto try and get ahead in competitive sport.
Personally, if a Sport wants to dope, let it dope just don't expect any sympathy if the doping kills you........

Yeah, I think the drugs thing is a sideshow tbh
And if it was just the drugs then I would agree, re the scapegoating
What really dealt a death blow to lance's career and reputation in cycling was the bullying, the intimidation, the coercion, the reputational and financial ruining of people through the courts, the destruction of other people careers and lives, the friendships destroyed, the marriages wrecked
The farce of the live strong foundation, - the constant "most tested man in history" refrain, the constant denials, even when caught
That's what did it for Lance, he is a sociopath
He reminds me of the Jeff Bridges character in Jagged Edge

Plenty of dopers have been caught, he isn't the only one. There is barely anyone from that era who hasn't been implicated, caught or owned up in some way. One reason he was so high profile was because he kept on lying about it, then he lied again, and lied some more, unrelentingly, and he hounded, bullied and destroyed anyone who got in his way, all while hiding behind his 'cancer jesus' narrative and being Billy big bollocks in the Peloton.
He could have come clean years ago and salvaged some of his reputation.
Problem isn't that he is just a doper, it's the unrelenting lying and sociopathic behavior.

Lance is the past and there is nothing he can say that will change my mind about him. He's not a victim in any way. I wish he would just go away.

He raised a load of cash for charity which shouldn't be overlooked.
He cheated (as did many), he bullied and manipulated (far more than others), he's only sorry he got caught (like some).
Time to move on now for me though as its history now.
Given his age I'd personally relax what he can and can't do eg charity stuff
Ps If I had the chance to be average in a sport or elite making boat loads of cash whilst taking PEDs (and cheating), I'd take the latter option.
