"To fulfil their quick reaction role the Typhoons were cleared to travel at supersonic speed, any noise disturbance as a result of this is regretted."

Have to smile at the calm almost conversational tone of the pilot, Quality.
Staggered at the need for apologizing at the jets causing a sonic boom. Enjoy it !

That is the reason(along with many others) i would not be allowed to be fighter jet pilot.................i would be sonic booming over No10 all day long
I remember the Southport air show, watching the jets(and show the RAF did),afterburners............hairs on the neck standing up...................amazing.
Pulling 10g climbing vertical as had commentary over speakers too....WOW
I digress and think its awesome, boom away i say

Wasn't there a legal case against the MOD several years ago where one of their planes created a sonic boom, startled a horse and the rider died from the fall?
I think it may have been low flying come to think of it, hence the case.

This happens very often. Yes maybe not the authorisation to go supersonic, but we get other nations approaching our borders etc in airspace and by sea and it only gets reported when it furthers the media's agenda
