"Take care......"
What is it with people, I get this quite often, even over the phone from somebody never spoken to before
Do they really consider you vulnerable... About to cop it
Or are they comforting themselves.

When i was in America - everyone gave the parting gesture of "....have a nice day..."
Got really on my wick.
Is that person really wanting me to 'have a nice day' - even though they don't know me or are they really just saying 'goodbye'.

how about those who say
bye.. bye, bye.. bye then hang up as if there in a hurry to get rid of you.
It's just what people pick up as habit and i don't really read into it too much.
oh, and i'm one of those.... take care, bunch.

The one who used the phrase most was the youngish guy on the counter at the garage I used to go to down the bottom of teh rd
Last but two times I went there he'd gone.
I guess he didn't heed his own advice

It's just pleasantries - I usually greet people with "hello, how are you" - I am not really asking for an assessment of their wellbeing at that point in time. Will often say "see you later" or "bye for now" or "take care" at the end of conversation. They are just habitual expressions, nothing more, nothing less.

I hate people saying 'Hey' instead of 'Hi' all of the time. It might work in America but I don't think it quite works in Britain the same way. Here if you Hey to someone it almost sounds like fighting talk, well up North it does anyway. It's like "Hey", and you're like "Hey what, have you got a problem or something?"
