Question

how many cans of paint did you use for doing the skirts and things on the back bumper? also did you rub down the plastic with wet and dry before you primed them and after priming?

Just thought id let you all know that you can buy colour coded handles from the dealer, I gave them my paint code form under the bonnet and they orded them... they arrived from the factory.

only about £25 for 2. Perfect match and no chance of flaking off..

Well thats the trouble with not having internet during the day!!!

In no order...

Two and a half cans of Halfords colour matched did all the skirts, STi lip and the door handles, probably used four cans of Halfords grey plastic primer and two cans of Halfords clear laquer...still got the mirrors to do

Yes I did use a fine wet and dry with fairy liquid water to 'key up' the plastics.

New boots are on....dont look like 'Moles Dads' car any more

Lol ptholt...its on the list bud

ScoobyK....ring me if you wanna meet Tuesday, I will be there all day up to 4-00pm, poor mobile signal there so try again or text if no go, you are more than welcome to view

Step by step...not sure I'm worthy of posting 'my method' of painting, but if you are still wanting...mail me

Mark, I'm not good enough to do bumpers...not with cans anyway, if youve got spray gun etc I'll have a go for you

Sti lip was from 'Bell and Colville' main dealer in Surrey, was about £109 inc, although mine cost more as I paid a courier (in a STi 5) to collect it

Think thats it ???

Oh and heres a preview of the new wheels

Mike, no mate, I masked really close to the handles...took a bit of time but it seems to have worked.

The other thing...I chose to paint the 'rubber' gasket thing behind the handle, some dont do it, but I decided to 'bring it in' as (I hope) they wont have too much flex so wont crack

The colour match is not perfect at first, or rather the 'shade' of colour is not...then after a couple of days it seems to 'dull down' a bit and looks ok.

When you remove the tape you might 'pull' a little bit of paint...dont panic, spray a little 'colour' into a tin lid, then use very fine brush to 'touch-in' and seal the paint.

Best o' luck.

Halfords colour match service using the code on the plate under the bonnet is £8-99 a can.

Halfords laquer is about £6 and the plastic primer is about £4-99, have a look on previous page re quantity of paint.

I reckon I've spent about £45 to do what I've done so far.

....and then I realised that you probably wanted the price of the spoiler about £109 inc.
