Try Again! Skyline around Siverstone
#4
Rich,
Sorry to disappoint you but it's not my car. My misses bought me a track-day out at Silverstone.
I had a choice of driving Lotus Esprit V8, Subaru 22B, or the Skyline.
Well I love Jap performace cars, so that was the Lotus out!
I've had a day in an STi version 5 type-R already and I currently own an STi version 3 so, therfore, I thought it can't be the 22B....
So it had to be the legend!
Oh, and in addition to the Skyline I had a passenger ride in an R500 Caterham! Beyoooooodiful!

Si, not sure what it would do flat out. The cars were going out in different heats. The Skyline was modified to 400bhp, on road tyres and amongst race-spec stripped out 911s, Caterhams, F360s etc. The twin dump-valves sounded wicked! Turbos didn't whistle.... They breathed!!
Matt, the company is called Joyrider. Can be found in the back of Evo.
They normally do passenger rides so make sure you ask for a "drive" and NOT a "ride" as I was caught out!
But, on the day they were kind enough to me to negotiate a "drive".
A few months back I had a phone call from Yorkshire Police asking if I owned a 22B! My response was "I wish I did". Aparantly, Joyrider's 22B got knicked and recovered. Number plates were false but they found paper work with my name on under the driver's seat. Thieving gits!
