The original Skyline may have been a race car for the road, but I'm not sure about the R34.
Only real race cars for the roads are Caterhams. Or maybe Porker GTs....
But anyway,
Black R34, with 20" black alloys - and scare every poor f***er to death on the road

All,
If you had the inkling to sell your much loved Beemer Diesel, and didn't want to get another Scooby, which of the above would you go for? The R34 would not be a V-spec ( not that much difference anyway) and of course the Evo 7 is a "new" product, so as yet unproven...........
This is purely hypothetical you understand!
Now where's my cheque book?

When will you ever learn Matthew?

ditto the above!
I am tempted towards the Evo VII, but I really don't think that from initial impressions the Evo VII is aimed at previous VI owners.
I would be tempted to go for the GTR. Accesible 450BHP.

Harj,
You know I value your opinion............ above that of my sisters pet Hampster!! LOL
I just want to get the reaction of the Scooby masses, that's all. You'll forgive me when you actually get to drive the bloody thing!

From a personal standpoint, Id say the Skyline.
Looks better than the Evo 7 (though that doesnt look bad), is very rare, and is just such a damn nice car to be around.
Not sure which is the quicker car, but I dont think thats too big an issue, they are both quick enough beat just about anything on the road.
Oh yes, the Skyline has all that great gadgetry, the dash is an event in itself, though how much are you thinking of spending? the new R35 is out soon, so it may be worth your while to wait for that.

Matt get a grip mate.
You cant compare the two cars anyway as one is a rally derived point to point scratcher and one is a showroom spec race car.
If your gonna spend a lot of time on bumpy back roads then dont get a Skyline. If you spend a lot of time on motorways and good A roads then youll be fine.
But mate its like comparing a 996R with a gsxr750 really.
Both great cars but for very differeing reasons.

Alex,
Nice to meet you too mate! The sums I've received back make for some nasty ( read Expensive) reading, so I'll have to see what I can come up with......
Matt
P.S Still Hopeful!
