Howdy guys
Unfortunately we failed our SVA test today but the good news is it was on very trivial things.
Wing mirrors need to be higher on the shell to allow better rear visibiliy.
Need an extra 15mm ride height on the front to test the ligts
a bit of sanding on the inner dash surrounds.
We passed all the important stuff - immissions, noise. SVA were very happy with the build and fingers crossed we'll retest on tuesday and thats that.
The number of double takes from passers by and other motorists were incredible. Somebody also tried it on in an XR2 - very funny.
Craig resurfaced a roundabout whilst pulling off 'rather quickly'
All in all a good day - we failed but we basically know the car is sound and we are incredibly pleased that we've done 99.9% of things correctly. Not bad for a couple of monkeys eh ?

you guys obviously did rather well, i know of some factory cars that needed various heater control ***** etc sanded down as they protruded to far for the sva test so you're not alone in having to do some sanding

(Craig using Ians PC)
Thing that pi55ed me off was we mounted the mirrors after speaking to Westfield for advice - that was worth it
We're having a day off today and will sort the few remaining things tomorrow, retest tuesday, registration wednesday
Is difficult by driving it for 40 miles to assess how quick it is - not sure if it's fvcking quick or fvcking fvcking quick
Certainly seems to have less grip when giving it a bootful from the off than a Scoob. And it's a little gutless - 50-70 in 6th took around 5 secs - bike engines aren't torquey apperently.
Good job I had that bog roll when it hit 6k

Craig,
Bike engines are designed to carry between 170-220kgs. Double the weight and add a lard **** () and it's really gonna suffer. Off the top of my head, the Busa has around 80ft/lbs so you'd expect that. Don't suppose you'll notice it on the track though and I've heard that some serious gains can be had fairly easily
Matt
P.S. If you want it to go faster, let Ian drive it

Matt,
You twonk
Thought you'd know your onions as a biker but obviously you didn't - guess you're just a sunday afternoon rider eh?
Busas have around 105lb ft.
50-70 in top in 5 secs - try it in your lard 4ss car and see how long it takes . Give you a clue - it'll be longer

SVA tomorrow then off to get an MOT - WTF is that all about?
It passes SVA then has to get an MOT to check it's road worthy?
Nice little earner for the DVLA there
Still, least I get to do another 40 miles tomorrow
