How many fobs do you have - standard supply is 2.

If the batteries are going flat in a week then I'd assume there is a problem with the fob and probably worth taking apart and cleaning or obtaining a replacement(s).

They come up on the bay regularly and are easy to pair with your system as you know your code.

As you know your PIN CODE you are one step further than most
Does this happen in the same location (radio lockout)
