Default KEYFOB FAILED HELP PLEASE

The remote locking on the key ain't working today, so, car has imobilsed, is there anyway to get the car going using the key only. A code maybe??

If you do have a quick fix but dont want to post publicly can you PM me please???

not parked near a supermarket or anything that will block out the fob? is the light on the fob working

Yes put your 4 digit pin into the alarm keypad. on a 98 should be in the glovebox

you need your 4 digit code, if your stuck by the side of the road i doubt you have it in your car.
Check to make sure your not near an electrical pylon or a phone mast. they knock the signal for the standard subaru alarms

Quick update guys, i have checked inside the glove box,under the dash under the sun blinds and there is not any keypad anywhere??

try putting your key fob under the steering column it might be nearer the receiver

i have tried this and still no joy??the remote locks and unlocks the doors but the immo light is still flashing and the engine does not even turn over?

You only get 30 seconds after blipping the remote to start the car before the engine is immobilised again, you should have a keypad in the glovebox...and a card in your owners manual folder with the PIN on it to use if the fob fails...

I had this on a classic once, because of mobile phone towers, lift the bonnet, put the fob under the steering column plastic, as far up as you can then press the fob.

Tried it without lifting the bonnet and it didnt work, lifting the bonnet seems to provide some kind of shielding for the interference.
