Hello guys, I only ever had 1 turbo'd scoob in the past, And it only ever had a boost and volt gauge in.
I have now bought a new car and i bought a triple pod, what gauges would be best to have? as i don't see why i would need to see voltage, I will be buying the boost gauge again. Any help appreciated for other gauges.

 

Oil temp and oil pressure.

 

As above with boost, then AFR if you go for a 4th

As above, boost, oil temp, oil pressure, then I'd go for fuel pressure and maybe an accurate water temperature.

My FUEL pressure gauge saved my engine last summer

 

This sound's silly but i suppose you know by looking at your gauges from a day to day basis you would notice any change if the gauges read higher which means you have problems? or should they all be reading the same unless you have modified your car engine?
All a new learning curve for me

 

It's a case of learning what each one MEANS, mate.

Then you have to know, in your own mind, what the highs and lows are for each gauge, and where they should sit at tickover, normal driving, motorway and sustained high speed. It doesn't take long

On Defis, you can set an alarm for too high/low depending on the gauge, which is useful.

 

I understand what your saying, you get to know your car once you get used to what you see under different circumstances, Just looking forward to getting the gauges!

My old boost gauge use to save how far the boost went in 1 journey and had a peak light on it, Shame i sold the car! really wish i never did lol.

What gauges can i get that are smoked and light up blue? (Theme of the car)

 

Defis, for certain, Maybe Prosports.

 

Prosport halo. They have peak recall and adjustable warning.also have variable illumination with dimmer.
Excellent gauges . Just fitted them to my hawkeye

I bought mine from rspec they were 57.00 each and i bought a pod from ebay and modified it to fit properly.

 

prosports have all the features you need, i.e peak and warning settings, defis are better but a lot more expensive

 

Like twice the price......

Go for the proper fitting kit, NOT the sandwich plate

 

I still havent had chance to look at gauges! might be a thing i have to do at work lol..

what is a sandwich plate?

 

the easy way to fit the gauges, but some people think they are not very good(me included).
it fits inbetween the oil filter and engine to take the readings,but the impreza engine has the necessary outlets for senders already there, ie, pressure under alternator and temp on top of cylinder three so i would use these but its all personal choice.

 

Ahh i understand, I may have to get them a little more pin pointed when i choose my gauges and get them delivered, if the outlets are already there mosewell use them
