** Show Me Your KnockLinks **
I recently got a Knocklink through a group buy, but cant for the life of me decide where to mount the unit!!
A: mount the whole big ugly box somewhere on the dash
B: Split the box and remote mount the LED's
Anyone got any pics of installs to give me a few ideas.
Its fitted in a MY01 Bugeye, but any cars with install pics would help
Cheers

I've just been discussing this...
A tidy install in this thread here (....scroll down ) - http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=305882
An A-pillar mounted variation.
Another A-pillar job, no gauge this time.

looking good
I'm thinking along the same lines as ninnybobs install, I've got the connector behind the top of the dash ready, just need to find myself an auto electrician to extend the LED's cos my soldering sucks big ***

I was going to exactly as i8gtmf, but when I took the surround off to drill the holes for the LEDs, I got lazy and just fittted the circuit board complete with LEDs on their stalks as it comes (no removal or soldering) in the space above the steering column assembly so that the LEDs are visible between the clear plastic and the front surround:
It looks OK even if it's a bit of a bodge but the main thing is it only took 15 mins and no soldering
The nice thing about having the LEDs there is that at night you get the reflection of any activity at the top of the screen.....

Thanks PTMW for reminding me about LED holders. wont look very good without them.
Think I'll go for Ninnybobs idea of the bulbs in the top of the console, but maybe put the big red LED where yours is,must get to maplins though
