Question

Hi all

Am considering swapping out the stereo from my MY03 and placing a single DIN unit in the existing slot.

What to do with the remaining single DIN space?

I have considering getting a SECS Data Monitor, however I have heard on good authority that these units can be very problematic, with displays going wrong and other issues.

I would therefore like to throw this one open to the Scoobynet community to get all feedback both good and bad based on your own experiences.

Over to you!

Had one of the first SECS units made.

Never had any problems personally.

Have heard of some display problems but easily sorted under warranty.

Nathan..

Scooby,
We did indeed have problems with 4 units with respect to their displays and another 3 experienced problems with motor interference from the intercooler water spray, these same problems were not experienced on other identical cars.

Our unit was a completely new design and we have now sold over 300 Subaru specific units since the start of 2003, as stated above we have experienced 7 faulty units, all of which have been replaced under warranty, and changes were made some time ago to both hardware and software to overcome these problems.

Hopefully this information and the replies on your Other Thread will help to answer the information you received "on good authority " ??
