Default Another BOO to K.Michaels

I have been trying to contact them for the last week....always on hold for an age, leaving details on their website, sent an email with all the details so they could phone me when they were quiet enough...no joy. Finally got through this morning on the phone, was asked who do I want to speak to,I say anyone...they ask my age(40 y.o.),and who with and what was my best quote so far...411 quid/admiral for a '94 WRX..rather abrupt he says no we cant get anywhere near that, never asked post code blah blah(which is not a bad one),considering some of the good prices that have been getting banded about on here I find that hard to believe(not that i have knowledge in the insurance industry ye understand ).A-plan in fact quoted me 360 but with cat 1 security, only have cat 2, Keith Michaels could not obviously be arsed ....maybe his coffee was gettin' cold or summit,I'll take my hard earned elsewhere.

If your 'naming and shaming' who else have you has bad experiences with? I tried ringing Moley a week ago and couldnt get through. Im assuming he was busy and wont hold it against him!

I know its disapointing when you see the prices on these threads for insurance but everyone has different postcodes, mods, age, etc so I suppose you wont always get good quotes unfortunately

So why dont you tell us who else youve had bad experiences with? Ive had to wait an age for nearly all insurance companies on the phone, been asked endless questions and then lastly 'is it an import' and cant help, after half an hour of being on the phone.

If you don't ask for me you'll go through to someone who can quote on Subaru's but doesn't specialise in them.
Bear in mind as a broker we don't just do cars, we do household, public liability, commercial insurance etc.

The questions you would have been asked are aimed to tell if we'll be able to help or not. In this case your quote elsewhere was too cheap for us to compete with, and i would have hoped you'd rather be told this at the start of the quote before we wasted 10 minutes of your time asking all the questions just to tell you we can't do anything.

Thats why we normally ask what your best quote elsewhere is. NOT so that we can just beat that quote by a few quid, is is to find out if we are wasting both our time and your time by going through a full 10 minute quote.

Can imagine it being frustrating for both parties

But as Gary says, there’s only one of him!

Moley, couldn’t you have a word with the boss and either get a DDI or voicemail? Or maybe an email address set up specifically for Scoobynetter’s? you could then automate the reply so everyone is kept in the loop (underwriters etc)

Just a thought mate

Got to say that it only took me 2 phone calls to get hold of Gary - and when I did it was the fastest insurance quote and deal I think I've ever been through! He beat A-Plan by almost £300.

With most insurance companies (or any company really) it really depends on who you get, my experience with A-plan was very average, whilst others on here rave about them. My experience with Keith Michaels has been excellent.

Richard.
