Question

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if a Phillips RC 026 CD Changer is compatible with a standard MY01 double din head unit?

I've also got some Infinity 652's I will be installing. Most of the posts on here suggest a collar to make sure the speaker clears the window. I spoke to a local ICE expert(?) who said Vauxhall pods(?) would do the same job. Are they right or will I have to make a collar to fit?

Cheers
Nige

Prodriver,

Sorry can't help with the Autochanger.

Re the speakers - have a read of this thread and the links in it http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?ThreadID=136595

Not the same speakers I know, but very similar IIRC, and I may not

making the spacers out of MDF isn't difficult, somebody said easier than using the Nova things

Unhappy

Thanks Nigel.

Sounds like a quick visit to B&Q.

On the changer I have been told by a dealer that the RC026 will not fit a MY01 as the head unit is made by Kenwood! He couldn't tell me the model of the 6 disc Kenwood changer but informed me that it was £195.70 and I would need a bracket to fix it at £72.34 - all + VAT!!!

Anyone know what model Kenwood changer will fit the standard MY01 headunit?

There will also shortly be a brand new Phillips RC026 with lead on the For Sale forum!!

Any of the recent Kenwoods will fit - I believe CarAudioDirect and others have 'em starting at less than 100 quid.

Question

Chiark,

Will these changers work with existing head unit, or do you need a new one?

Nigel,

The MY01+ head unit is a Kenwood unit, so to the best of my knowledge all modern Kenwood changers just plug right in

You don't need to change the unit

Good, innit?

Cheers,
Nick.

As your dealer says, the Philips unit is NOT compatible with the standard "Kenwood" Head Unit in the MY01. Sorry I'm slow in replying.
