I dont know whether this is old news but here you are anyway.
I have been informed that NEC are launching a double din dvd and cd in a couple of weeks.
Retailing at around £995 I have been informed. Expensive but nice all touch screen functions apparantly I wait to see.

Honestly, if you go to Japan often enough (like me...proud, proud) a DVD & CD double DIN is nothing new nor special...

Also 995£ is a little overpriced...anyway thanks for the info

Hehe, ok i'll try to remember you when I'm there....

in the meantime you can have a look at the following

http://www.geocities.co.jp/MotorCity-Rally/1006/shop.html

scroll down to "Audio & Navi systems" and have a look at all the major manufacturers (some are Japanese only, like Panasonic but some common sense helps here).

Also some companies have more fancy units (Kenwood, Panasonic) whereas others are more "boring" (Eclipse, Sanyo)
