Ej25 crankshaft, ej20 rods, ej20 stroker pistons, be easier just buying a built one from lateral performalce or engine tuner.

Ive heard wms do them for a very good price as well as ASperformance who ive personally dealt with and have to say alyn is a pleasure to deal with and can point you in the right direction.

To get the most out of a 2.1

Also factor in
Finding a virgin 2.0 Closed Deck Block
And spending the money on getting it machined, the bores to fit the pistons you choose and also rear thrust conversion for the 2.5 crank.

The two places to get that done in the UK are ............

if you want to go over 500bhp I agree, but if not you can do it much cheaper and use a rear thrust (V5 onwards) block and still have all the benefits of a 2.1. An open deck with arp studs is still a strong motor for most applications.

I've got the closed deck block looking to get the machine work done just not sure on whats the best road to go down I'd like to run more than 500bhp and numbers seem to be a huge factor at the moment so far it's moving the thrust washer to number five, getting a 2.5 crank forged rods and pistons not sure on best size pistons to run uprated head studs to larger ones I think people are talking 14mm then because it's a 2.0 block and to stop valves hitting I need head gaskets not sure on sizes of gaskets then are the heads to use original ones or have I got to get 2.5 heads and the aucilleries like alternator starter motor power steering pump will they need up rating to handle the power increase

We can supply a built 2.1 stroker short block based on your closed deck block.
The advantages are a meticulously clean build and time and effort saved as it's ready to go.
We supply a new heat treated crank, K1 rods, Mahle pistons and ACL Race bearings.
We balance the assembly.
The block is delivered painted with plated fittings.
We use stress plates for boring and honing, all work is carried out in our own machine shop.
£2900 including vat which would include rear thrust machining and the drilling and tapping for the 14mm stud conversion.
Delivered wrapped.
Check our quality.

PS.. Depending on the model of your heads, they may require fettling to achieve the correct comp ratio. We can also deal with this, and advise the correct gasket thickness.

Sounds good best start saving was gonna do it a bit at a time but sounds pretty good to me what would be involved in head work and do you allow watching as I'd like to learn a bit more about the work that goes into building the block up and if I can't get hands dirty I'd like to watch it being done how long would it take to build a block like that

Like sex, a spectator sport?
I'm not sure our Andrew and Ben see it that way, but we do allow open access in our workshop for viewings etc, and we're happy to email over pictures of the builds as much as possible, time constraints considered!
The early heads require a fair bit of machining, the later ones less so, but it's about getting the chamber volume sorted, and working out the gasket thickness, bearing in mind correct squish.
We always trial assemble, then work out the comp ratio before stripping, carrying out machining required before the final build and finish.
