Default Another "How much BHP" question....

Sorry if this has been n gone long ago......

99/2000 UK turbo classic. Totally standard engine, apart from exhaust & panel filter. What sought of power figures are poss by just a remap alone?? Not interested in bigger turbo/intercooler/throttle body etc etc.
Car must stay 100% drivable.
Many thanks

Yeah about 260ish. If ur gna pay so much for the remap on a uk(unless ur lucky and can get it done cheap or get a second hand ecu), plus ur filter and exhaust, why not throw on a second hand td05 16g and a walbro pump whilst ur at it before the map, mine made 325bhp/280lbft torque and stil as reliable and driveable at this spec

OK guys, so I'm assuming between 240 - 270, depending on fuel used & exact exhaust/intake.
Thanks for your answers

I bought mine with a SS turbo back exhaust (de-cat), panel filter, standard turbo, already mapped with boost@ 1.7bar and it made 240bhp. Engine's got 120k, now running 226bhp@ 1bar (both figures at enginetuner.co.uk)

^ pretty poor results no? Don't they only run 220ish in standard form? And only a 20hp difference with 0.5 bar added?!

will be fiuel related to hit 240. The bigger concern is 1.7 is way too much boost to be safe though, who actualy dare map it to that?

My dads 51 plate bug sti made 305 after decat and remap, normaly they run 330 ish, but his was on 95ron as well. (he is 65 lol)

I don't know who mapped it originally, it wasn't described as mapped when I bought it but Martyn at enginetuner.co.uk said it must have been mapped to have the boost limit removed. He was the one that turned the boost down due to the milage on the engine. I've ran it on Tesco Momentum since I've had it including when it went to Martyn.
So is 240 low or high then? Or 226 as the case may be... (hopefully that only helps answer the OP)

I should add, Martyn DID NOT map it for me, he merely put it on he rollers for power figure and to check it was running right. He seemed happy enough with 226.

its not boost limit par say, its what the standrd ecu can actualy see.

240 is about what you would expect on 95 ron, but with less boost than 1.7 :S
