MOT's and decat/remap
Evening all,
Just a quick question.... sadly i don't have a 'friendly' MOT station so in regards to emissions i will need my impreza to have the catalytic converters present.
It's currently stock in regards to the exhaust but wishing to full decat it in the near future, however I've also read after full decatting the system it's recommended to remap the car to suit.
Now come MOT time and i now have a car decatted and remapped, would there be any issues in regards to emissions when putting the cat's back on just for the test considering the remap?
I hope that makes sense
Many thanks in advance.

You need to watch the roadside emission checks, get caught you will get fined! Not worth the hassle changing from decat to cat each mot for a few horses.

Once you put the cat back on it should be fine yeah. Its a pain in the **** though.
Never have I seen a roadside emission check, surely if your car fails the emissions roadside it could be a genuine fault with the car. Therefore old Doris in her Fiat 500 could get caught out. Therefore making that a very difficult fine to stick, which is probably why I have never seen this check or heard of a conviction..?
