Do you have a decat system? I had this, I think its from the rear sensor in the second cat/decat, and it happened when I was on a run, but not booting it funnily enough. It doesn't come back now I have had a remap.

yep, decatted,to be honest, ive been getting my mpg up for works trips and i can get 300 miles to a tank (328hp 370lbs) by driving like a nun with 9 points on the license.

Dont think the car likes to be driven "softly"

Ive reset the lights using the torque app and will drive a bit more lively and see if it comes back on.

You could try giving it a quick blast with a little bit of high-ish reving, clear the fault code and then see if it returns.

I wonder why the mapper didn't "map out" P0420 then ?

Mapper probably missed turning it off.

Give them a call and take back etc.

Yup rear cat O2 sensor not showing enough of a difference from front O2 sensor.

Driving slow makes it come on quicker. As the cat test logic only fires at steady speed.

1. get it mapped out. easiest option.

2. get the rear sensor placed further out of the stream. a simple 8-10 cm tube added onto the current sensor bung in the downpipe. Any xhaust shop should be able to fab one up.

3. or move the sensor to the furthest location on the decat exhaust.
