Default Engine cutting out in low gears!!

I'm having a problem lately where my 04 wrx keeps cutting out on me!

It happened again last night in a carpark, I was in 2nd gear, coming up to a junction, put my foot onto the clutch and the engine just cut out! No power steering or anything..

It's done it a few times, mainly when I'm coming up to junctions and slowing down..

anybody else had this problem/know how to fix it?

Cheers!
Dan

Could be fuel pump related. I would suspect coils but they're pretty reliable on the newage. I would get the fuel pump checked out. Incidentally does it do it when your fuel level is low?

It's never really that low to be honest..
I've took it to a garage a while back and they said something about some reed at the front of the car that tells the engine how much fuel/air it should use, and it just collects crap from the road and the false readings make it cut out?.. Just doesn't sound right to me!

I would let Andy at Richard Henry Autos (number below) have a look. He really knows his stuff and will diagnose the fault in no time. It's not something you can drive around, cutting out in busy traffic could be very dangerous.

If it was fuel related (eg pump) wouldnt it splutter slightly before cutting out?
