Sudden and unexpected problem with my car, MY 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX :

Went to start the car yesterday, had a bit of a problem opening the back door after unlocking the car with the remote fob. Lock wouldn't totally release so had to lock and try again, still an issue so finally unlocked the door from inside to open. However, after this, I went to turn engine on, showing all normal lights on dash, immobiliser light on for a while (this is normal) but the engine wouldn't turn on at all. No attempt to turn over. Has the door issue locked down my immobiliser and if so, what do I need to do to get it reset?
