Is your replacement maf a genuine one and is it BRAND NEW,have seen many times people use second hand parts with problems.

with both the revs seem hesitant when first reved and on a test drive when it feels the turbo should be pulling it feels to be holding back.
the replacement is a used item but giving the same symptoms altho running on the orange maf standing still seems to rev better

Have you cleaned the boost solenoid? Checked coil packs?

Code 22 is knock sensor, not MAF.

With the knock sensor out, the ECU can't learn. After a reset, the car runs its default setting for the IAM, which means it won't run cleanly at high revs and under load.

It is very difficult to know whether the problem you are seeing is caused by the MAF or the lack of knock learning in the ECU.
