Do you get the CEL light come on? if so it's worth buying an OBD2 reader of ebay which you can get for £20 and can read error codes thrown up.

At first what model New Age or Classic?
Second what type Lambda sensor you are fit?
3 wire is for Classic, usually is Bosch(this will not work on New age)
4 wire is for New Age,only Denso will work faultless on New Age(this will not work on classic)

How you know is Lambda sensor, can be Maf etc, without the error code, you can change everything an still will not find hat triggering CEL.

Often lamda faults can show on the ecu becuase the car has a misfire. This puts the fueling out of range of the lamda. How are the cars plugs and leads or coil packs?

Coils and plugs show up as intermittent failure, so at different revs and conditions. MAF norm gives up as the car is under load and at rpm , sort of repeatable.
