changing slanty V2 intercooler
hi i have searched on here for ages for a guide on how to change my slanty TMI for a intercooler from a newer Impreza but cannot find anything, could anyone point me in the right direction please,

at your mods if you are really that concerned try and get the v1-2 sti top mount which is what i did and was fine on cool days or when on the move but the heat soak was horrendous after being standing in traffic or a breif stop at the services, when i wanted more power i had no choice but to go front mount as fitting a later model top mount wasn't a option.

but with changing the intercooler, surely there will have to be map tweak, if not possible on ecu then would the op not require an esl board or aftermarket ecu like apexi etc to make sure engine is as it should be with the change anyway!!
agreed about fmic though if your going down that road there not hard to fit, takes as long trimming the bumper as it does to fit and better results surely with future scope

On the V1-V2 a fmic is probably the best way forward unless you want to take a grinder to the bulkhead and throttle body to fit a V3 onwards intercooler.
