Brothers new car eats me up.....
Hey all, just thought id have a rant on here.
My 24 year old brother has just bought a car that spanks my scooby .......on a run at least.
He has a Honda Integra turbo with 327 whp. On a pull he eats me up, but I have saved some face by leaving him on the twisteys.......
I need more power.....

327bhp at the wheels! That's around 400bhp at the flywheel. I guess it's a Type-R with some fairly substantial turbo conversion and engine work?

LOL< he doest get any traction till 3rd. Even then it torque steers like a pig. Yeah it was tested at 380 at flywheel and has huge turbo. Does make me smile when Im in it, but dont like being left behind........
Im assuming Ill need to plough serious money into my classic to come close.
But, there is always my crotch rocket

Exactly that mate, I said that to him. only good on a hot dry day from 60. The way boost comes in is mental. He does have a lsd, but it works so hard. Even in 4th on high boost (28psi) it snakes like crazy

No, its a red dc2 with carbon bonnet. It was built by Thor motorsport.
Going back to power in scooby, its probably gonn abe cheaper to buy one already done than me do mine, isnt it?

Do it yourself, it'll cost a bit more, but you can sleep well in the knowledge that you chose the engine builder and tuner, and it is more likely not to go pop on the next drive down the shops.

Bloody git rekons with Adrian Flux, and declaring turbo conversion , exhaust and air filter its only £900 a year....
I did try tell him that seems a bit to good to be true.

DC2 was 1101kg IIRC?
So 260 FWHP would be 238bhp/tonne. A late WRX or STi with 276bhp and 1270kg is only 221bhp/tonne, so can see how it would indeed just have the measure of them (certainly in a straight line drag race on a dry, decent surfaced road ).
Evos are more portly than the Impreza for the same like for like MY, so no problem there either...

I bet a turbo'd DC2 is thrilling? Even the regular NA VTEC puts you on edge. But I can imagine the LSD is working overtime, and makes the car tiring with all that extra torque?
That's the beauty of (the Impreza's) 4WD - effectively halving the torque at each front wheel, and at the same time adding the same to the rear i.e. each of the 4 wheels sharing 25% of the torque in steady state situations. Ergo, frees up more of each wheel's 'envelope' for braking and accelerative traction...

hondas are made to be nasp modded, as proven by a stockish k20/k24 eg which done the 1/4 mile in just over 11 seconds this weekend!
