lost 40 bhp over 2 years! how?
2 yrs ago my RR figures where 329/375. 06 ppp sti. yesterday, same rollers 290/330! gutted. now the only power mod i have done within this time is a straight thru/de-resonated exhaust centre section. i would of thought this may have given me 4-5 extra bhp, but taking into account wear and tear, i hoped to be maybe the same as 2 years ago, i could of lived with losing 5 bhp, but 40! obviously i want this sorting, apparently the mechanic in the car on the rr said it was not boosting properly, i did clean through the boost control valve a month or so ago, so is this likely to be the culprit? how much do you think i should be looking at tops to sort this? thanks, lee.

Gonna gues at the good old neutrol position switch, car will be prefectly smooth and will hit nearly the same boost levels, but the avcs will not kick, usually resulting in the loss or around 30/40bhp.
They are about £40 if i remember and a bit of a pain to fit, but had similar issues in the padt and this sorted it.

excuse my lack of knowledge bicco, but where is this located? is it part of the boost valve system or around that area? is there a way of actually knowing that this is the cause without removing -getting-refitting? would it show on a diagnostic check? many thanks btw.

was assured that i would not have an issue fitting the centre section, and keeping the oe downpipe, as for the rr mechanic he just said it was not boosting correctly, probably did not want to commit to a reason at the time due to the busy day

firstly if the car is mapped etc it must be tweaked for the exhaust change..
it maybe as simple as it is slightly lean and the ecu is pulling timing to keep it safe and boost too if it is v bad and this is where the power has gone.
