Default PLEASE HELP ! 1999 SCOOBY NON TURBO INTERMITTENT POWER LOSS

HI GUYS
IM IN DESPERATE NEED OF ADVISE FROM U SCOOBY EXPERTS :!
I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A 1999 SCOOBY (TURBO REPLICA) IT IS A 2.0 AWD,
THE PROBLEM IS I HAVE AN INTERMITTENT FAULT WHERE I SOMETIME LOOSE POWER , ROUGHLY BETWEEN 2.5K REVS IT DOSE IT AND 4K REVS AGAIN ?

THIS SOUNDS LIKE ITS MISS-FIRING !
ONLY WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED MORE THAN HALF WAY (WHEN U BACK OFF IT STARTS TO ACCELERATE AGAIN )!
PLUGS BEEN CHANGED 2 DAYS AGO WITH LITTLE EFFECT !

Welcome (less of the caps lock please, its deemed as shouting )

So any modifications to the car? last serviced etc (air filter changed??)

whoops ill knock that on the head then ,

yes mods :
carbon fibre induction kit
fse power boost valve
cobra exhaust system with no mid box (including de-cat)

urm think that's it performance wise!

fse boost valve on a non turbo car, What does that do. Has the car just started doing it or have you fitted any mods, then its started...

i had a 2l sport before and fitted it with boost valve and i had nothing but problems with it and never managed to set up right. it didnt like induction kit on it ether. is ur fuel filter chocked?

The power loss is due to the "non turbo" I personally would try reomving the boost valve and if that dont cures the problem then try the induction kit.

right , ok ill try the fse boost valve tomorrow and if not try the induction kit after and ill keep you posted.

i bought the car with all the mods on it , and have only owned it a couple of weeks .

If it has a immobilizer, it might be worth getting it bypassed. My old sport developed a missfire and wouldn't run for longer than 3 - 4 minutes at idle without stalling.

Turns out the security system was on its way out, and strangely enough more of the same unit followed on other cars.

had a diagnostic done today and it read a fault with the right hand side lambda sensor ?
needs replacing apparently ?
would it have that effect on my car ?

Yes. Could well be that then. If not you have ruled something out, it's all part of the fault finding process.
