Default oil pressure 2 bar - warm idle - problem???

hi guys
bit of a long story
i had a sti4 engine b4 which ive sold but that used to register 3 bar at warm idle, a bit lower if hot ,ie stuck in traffic

ive now got a forged block with cossie oil pump and sti8 crank which reads 2 bar at warm idle, the idle is a little low but it was on my old engine also now the scary bit - i can hear a knock at idle in the car but its not so bad listening under the bonnet. my last engine used to worry me about knock because they do sound a bit knocky anyway so i got the pressure gauge and that made me relax but now my forged engine is reading 2 bar aswell as the sound, i am a bit nervous.
is there anyway i can tell if its ok or is there anyone in the west yorks area who can come and have a listen....i make a nice cup of tea

thanx btw

If you are that paranoid at the moment take the car to richard henry in bradford and they will check it over for you. Also mine is the same 2bar at hot idle and running millers 10w50 millers fully syntethic oil.

, thanx guys yes i am that paranoid, i still need to get it mapped or i would just cane it, if it got worse yeah its big ends but i cant drive on boost.

cos its meant to be a cossie pump i expected higher pressure not lower, i am going to drain the oil me thinks and stick some decent millers stuff in, not going to the depot for it though £10 more than my local parts shop -lol

Always left to brew without milk and never beat the bag as it gets that tangy taste, just carress the bag and let it do it on its own.
Add the milk after so you always get the right amount, thats where most fail see as they add milk first and have to stir and man handle the bag till its the right colour, which always tastes crap imho
Time wise would depend on how strong you like it really but im around the 7-9 mins myself if its in the pot with three bags
How's that

oh wait we should be dicussing the problem[/quote]

man handle the bag
now that made me giggle.. i tend to leave mine with no milk for around 4-5 mins, then top up with milk with a gentle stir also, trying not to MAN HANDLE THE BAG then a gentle sqeeze of the bag on the side of the cup and out to the bin goes the bag then another gentle stir and hey presto

sound about right??

and you've all missed the most important part of the process! You pre-heat the tea pot! lol. You have to pre-heat the tea pot with boiling water before you make the tea.
