Default clutch helped needed asap.

ive bin replacin the clutch in my my97 uk and run in 2 a minor problem! wen i put the clutch back in with the engine not running i have a really good decent clutch pedal. the minute i start her up the release bearing pops out of the spring plate now ive riped it out and put it ALL back together 4 times and it does it evry time ive tryed the retaining clip evry which way possible, has any1 ran in2 a problem like this b4 or have any idea wot it coulld b cheers shaun.

how did you fit it??

did you fit the bearing to the clutch fork on the gearbox or did you fit it with the clutch plate?

Fit bearing to the fork line up engine and box once fitted use the fork to push the bearing into place by hand should hear a click once its in place

b4 putting the clutch on and lining it up i fitted the bearing and retainer clip, lined it up, put the fork on, put the box on and fitted evrything else. how do u push the bearing in with th fork. its my 1st time playin wiv the impreza set up so still learning.lol. cheers shaun

ok. pull box out and on floor.

fit the fork and the bearing to the gearbox. fit clutch to car. when you offer up the box and you slip on the shaft once its engaged you should hear a click. that will mean the bearing is now engaged with the clutch and in place. if not push the clutch fork back towards the back of the car and it should click in#

rite ok, if i remember, thers no permanent fixin for the fork 2 the bearing, it just sits in th groves right? wot about th circular retaining clip. i assume i fit that aswell at the same time i fit the bearing n fork.

i dont think that clip should be seperate any way. i think its actually suppose to be in place.

that clip mite be th devil of my probs thn. well ive orderd a new clip n cage, ill giv that a shot this weekend hopefully. i had 2 change the release bearing so had 2 take the clip off, mayb ive over stretched it putting it back on.

ah yeah you remove the clip to get the bearing off but you fit the clip back in position before refitting
