how did you fit it??

did you fit the bearing to the clutch fork on the gearbox or did you fit it with the clutch plate?

b4 putting the clutch on and lining it up i fitted the bearing and retainer clip, lined it up, put the fork on, put the box on and fitted evrything else. how do u push the bearing in with th fork. its my 1st time playin wiv the impreza set up so still learning.lol. cheers shaun

ok. pull box out and on floor.

fit the fork and the bearing to the gearbox. fit clutch to car. when you offer up the box and you slip on the shaft once its engaged you should hear a click. that will mean the bearing is now engaged with the clutch and in place. if not push the clutch fork back towards the back of the car and it should click in#

rite ok, if i remember, thers no permanent fixin for the fork 2 the bearing, it just sits in th groves right? wot about th circular retaining clip. i assume i fit that aswell at the same time i fit the bearing n fork.

mr_D 30 April 2010 10:49 AM

i dont think that clip should be seperate any way. i think its actually suppose to be in place.

shaunscooby_89 30 April 2010 11:06 AM

that clip mite be th devil of my probs thn. well ive orderd a new clip n cage, ill giv that a shot this weekend hopefully. i had 2 change the release bearing so had 2 take the clip off, mayb ive over stretched it putting it back on.

mr_D 30 April 2010 11:14 AM

ah yeah you remove the clip to get the bearing off but you fit the clip back in position before refitting
