Lots of people go for something like a Sparco and forgo the airbag. I really want the zero/sports replacement, which keeps the airbag but reduces the diameter from 375mm to 350mm and has a thicker rim:
スポーツステアリング|ZERO/SPORTS | Original Parts Recomend
Can't find anyone who imports it though, and I can't be arsed to order it from Japan and pay import duty etc

Well I would leave your steering wheel alone really, it sort of goes like this, steering wheel removed, new one fitted, dccd warning light on, expensive bill to fix

I've talked to the guy (he's Japanese and very enthusiastic) at EDO in Manchester and he's very helpful. Suggest you give him a call and ask.

If you want the best stuff, import it from Japan.
Its usually cheaper than the UK (if available over here) and Custom Charges are not that bad.
Companies like www.rhdjapan.com export all day long. I have had alot of stuff from them myself.
Tho if you want to make do with whats available over here, not have anything unique or rare, then no worries!

I could do with a new one for my 03 WRX, my f'ing Disklok has wrecked my wheel. Over time it has rubbed off the wheel in places making the wheel look well old and battered. lol
