Hi all
I have just bought a 1996 UK Turbo 2000 (yesterday) that is standard except a Prodrive rear box, I used to drive and tune Saabs, but have converted to AWD!!
I have been doing a bit of searching and am thinking of a full race decatted exhaust, front mount i/c and tubular manifold from Japspeed.
I do however want to get this all fitted and then have the car 'mapped'.
I havent got a clue about good tuners for Imprezas so help would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance!!
Martin

Japspeed Tubular manifolds aren't really worth it till you reach the 350bhp region IMO. I'd speak to harvey on here who can sort you with a ported manifold instead.

Another question I have.... If I do get a turbo back exhaust and FMIC, do I NEED to have a map to keep the car running 'safely' or is it only preferable in terms of maximising the gains?
This is probably a very stupid question to ask, but being new to Scoobies I honestly dont know!!

with a better flow of air into and out of the turbo. the turbo will be able to spin quicker bringing on the chances of boosst reaching and peaking earlier and higher than the ecu can cope with. Too much boost isn't always a good thing buddy. I'd say get it mapped.

Rookymatt has it right.
You will be moving the exhaust more efficiently and you will be providing better colder air to the induction side. You've provided more air into, more exhaust out of, but added no fuel into the equation.
It is getting a bit far off base settings to be safe.
For safety; remap.
