Default Thanks Api!!

Well, i know most of you know how good Api are, especially the free advise from David, but thought i'd post this anyway.
I had a poorly engine on the RA, and have had a few dealings with Api in the past, and decided to let them do the full forged re-build.
David and I had a long chat about prices and specs, and keeping it within budget, i ended up at the £3.5k mark.
It's nice to be able to chat with the guy who's building the engine too. Got shown around the workshop, what they do etc, very reassuring.
I had Manley rods, Mahle pistons, sti 3 heads, cosworth gaskets, acl bearings etc.
I picked the car up yesterday, was shown why it failed(see pic), again having a good chat with the builder, and David.
I took the car without even giving it the once over, which i did today. Needless to say it's mark free, and the standard of finish is top notch, i'm very happy. It drives perfectly, can't wait till it's run in!!
So overall a very pleasant experience, and will always return for future mods(six speed maybe!!!)

Thanks David and team

They picked the car up, removed, rebuilt, refited the engine and MOT'd it. All the mods were there, just the engine rebuild they did.

Thanks, this was my biggest worry that it wouldn't come back as clean, but i'd say it's now cleaner, not a oily finger print in sight(look at the inner arch's). The turbo wraps been fitted back as it was, i even think they fixed the small hole in the header wrap.

I know, it's just i've been to many garages over the years, and i've never come away with the same quality as this. People tell you things, but until it's your motor you just don't know. Thanks again David!( you do realise i'm after one your bacon butties next time!) :-)

Good to hear all these success stories from API. My hawkeye is with them now for an engine rebuild after the dealer refused to do it under warranty. Only trouble now is the temptation to stray over budget!

Mark, We're evaluating yours this morning; It's a mess, but it isn't a 7000 pound mess.

Clutch is worn out though.

l'll call later with a full report and costings.

Take my advice and take David's advice.

Every time my car has gone to him for an upgrade, I've come away happy, on the one or two occasions I've tried to do things cheaper I've only ended up going back to him with my tail between my legs wishing I'd listened in the first place.

Sucks to have to rebuild a Hawkeye! What happened?

Upgrades, well, whilst the engine is in pieces, you may has well drop some better pistons/rods in there, bigger turbo etc......

Hang on a minute. The bacon buttie thing is to encourage you to spend.

But if I've had all your money and you're now skint? - well, why invest any more butties in a skint person

Come back when you have some more money, then we'll see about free bacon butties....................

See ya Tuesday, have a good weekend,

David
