Default Engine Management Light On

on a 2005 WRX. Car still running fine. I have however noticed that the radiator fans keep clicking on and off when the ignition is on ( engine cold) and angine not running. Are the two linked ? Any ideas how to fix ?

TIA and Happy New Year.

Hello. Im not the best to reply to this, but as you have no response yet here goes.

Firstly are you sure its not the Aircon system running with the ingnition on?

As for the Engine management light, buy an OBD reader - there about £20 and find out for yourself what the issue is with the light being on as there is litterally hundreds of reasons for it. List below of reasons:

Most decent garages will have an OBD reader that will plug into the diagnostic socket, and give out a fault code. I'd say you'd be better off going to a Subaru dealer or Subaru specialist, as detailed knowledge helps a whole lot. It's possible you have a sensor failure, which may explain the fans coming on, unless you've attempted to check it by plugging in the under dash multi plugs? General rule is, if you just poodle about gently, and get it checked ASAP, you won't hurt it.

Sounds like the two green connectors under the dash on the drivers side have been connected together, if they have disconnect them and you should be ok.
