Default VF28 into my MY99?

Hi all, I may well be purchasing a VF28 for a replacement of my TD04. This is purely to increase power to around 315-330. I have spoken to Bob Rawle and he has been more than helpful (cheers Bob)

I think I have troubled him enough now. What I would like to know is, will the VF28 simply bolt on including water pipes etc? I know this turbo is standard on the V5 sti and P1. I will be fitting a new up pipe and decat at the same time so hopefully it will come off ok'ish!

Any advice would be greatly received as I want to be able to do everything at once.

Cheers, Martin.

Yes should be quite straight forward to fit, along with your decat then the remap, should give you a nice 320ish bhp

Good news then, thanks for your reassurances. I intend to fit it along with a Walbro and then full decat. I'm currently running around 280 and look forward to the extra horses. The remap will be done asap after the fitting, so I will have to stay off boost for a couple of weeks!

Thanks, I know the VF35 will go on. It's just I have the chance to buy a good VF28 for just under £300 and it's a low mileage example. I will be checking it over before purchase, but, all seems well so far

one thing to note is that the oil banjo bolts are different between the TD04 and the Vf28, vf28 needing a smaller hole due to being a ball bearing turbo. If the oil pipes are attached to the vf28 you should be ok.

Got a Vf28 on my98 uk turbo and its great

Ha I see, this is what I wanted to avoid on the day! If the turbo doesn't include the pipework is it possible to purchase these pipes/bolts. I'm unfamiliar with fitting turbos, I have a mechanic friend who is doing the fitting. I just need to supply the parts, I want to make sure he has everything he needs. Thanks again.

my wagon seems to be a bit down on power compared to most but still fetched 298bhp/303lb ft.standard injectors etc etc,but was removed from a members car and his car was running 340 bhp with the vf35.i believe they are good for 320-340.mine only reached 238bhp on td04 so i gained 60bhp with the vfoh and lots of torque!
