bp ultimate
hi all i have just come back from devon on a weeks holiday,filled up on v power drove down there and then wile driving around needed to put more in,i couldnt find a shell garrage so put £20 worth of bp ultimate in,when started her up on morning coming home noticed that it never started as smoothly as before (starts first time, all the time.)on m5 i filled to the top with v power again but has done it a few times sinse when starting,would this be the bp ****e or maybe the humid temps we have been having the past week? any thoughts folks cheers

was mapped on v power,but will it learn and return to normal as put £120 in and only £20 of that was bp ? i found two tesco garages but didnt do the 99 ! if happens again i will call rac for lift home lol,so will all be ok or may there be trouble caused ?

At the worst the ecu will pull some timing and she'll run a bit off colour. Soon cured by a couple of tanks of V-Power, the hot weather does turbo'd cars no favours. IMHO

Putting aside the crapness of BP U for a mo...
If you are running an A'PEXi Power FC or Simtek ECU (or any other which does not adjust the ign. timing) then, if you put in ANY 97, you run the risk of running lean and detting when hooning. This is because you've had it mapped on higher octane 99, and thus will have too much ign. adv. for only 97!
If you have the OEM ECU, or any other after market adj. ign. timing one, then you should be okay to hoon on 97...
Just an advisary.

thanks mates, it was diluted somewat so not as though it was empty and then put in,also only 20 quids worth and 100 quids of v power,also its oe sti v7 ecu.

filled my v3 type r with bp twice a while back and around that time we had problems starting the car....
... used vpower and tesco 99 ever since with no problem.
