Default Is this structural ??

Heres a question for you lot that like to do the extreme to our scoobs.

is this bracket needed for support/structure ?? (not my car/pic but its the same)

Reason i ask is i have fitted a newage TMIC and it hits this, so i too mashed it with a hammer, got the TMIC to fit but the y pipes underneath still hit/rest on said bracket and its casuing vibration/excessive noise thru the bulk into the cabin.

can i just whip it off and be done with it,it seems you can whack it/mishape it so i dont think its structure based ?????

anyone any thoughts ?????

cheers

Gearbox pitch stopper - personally I'd leave it well alone.

Have you tried tilting the Intercooler?

Cheers for replies.

Tilting it wont help, as how it fit,the y pipe joint onto the intercooler, where it bolts,as you fit the intercooler, one side goes underneath that metal part so is touchin the underneath side of that part.

i suppose i could trim that part ????

Instead of that metal on the bulkhead being the kinda Y shape it is, i could make it rectangle ???? so id cut off the 2 parts in line with the coolant hoses

Cheers all for replies.

i sorted it, i did the rectangular jobby on that gearbox support bracket, works a treat now, i just bent the outer side bits inwards so its still supportive and strong just a different shape, intercooler fits straight away,no jiggling or anything required.

sweet !!!!!

cheers again all
