Exclamation A'PEXi 3-PORT BCS... OR OEM 3-PORT BCS ???

When I eventually get around to getting a Hybrid FMIC, 550cc injectotrs, IK, I intend to go for c.350/350, blah, blah lol

Now I know I'll need more boost than my current 1.15bar, so will obviously have to replace the OEM 2.2bar MAP sensor with the A'PEXi 3.0bar jobbie from the 2nd hand A'PEXi boost kit which I have already acquired.

Also in the kit is obviously A'PEXi's own compact little 3-port BCS...

Question then: which BCS performs - i.e controls boost - better? The A'PEXi... or the OEM 3-port (which I obviously already have on the car)?

Cheers dudes.

I recently had my car remapped by Bob Rawle and had a genuine 3 port boost solenoid fitted, when I asked Bob which solenoid he thought was best he said the genuine Subaru item.

He said that they control the boost better than the ones from Perrin, Turbosmart etc. I am not sure what bar rating the genuine ones are designed/rated for but if Bob says they are the best then who am I to argue.

Thumbs up

Thanks mate.

I suppose when it all comes down to it, any branded 3-port one will work okay (all much better than a 2-port anyway).

So, for simplicity's sake (if nothing else), I'll keep the OEM one on. It's working beautifully BTW (always has done)... "If it ain't broke..." and all that

Cheers.
