I am not sure why you would want to do a reset on a Simtek.

Ecutek'ed ecu will reset and the map will not be wiped so you would be fine there.

which do you have an EcuTek remap of the original ecu or a SimTek ecu?

the SimTek ecu doesn't need or have a reset and then engine light is only used for 3 things.. det (flashing), shift light, and within the map switching process if not on a switch.

In what way is the engine light coming on? on solid?

what year is the car?

if you look in help pages there is how to read the error codes and reset the ecu assuming you are not on a simtek

GForce changed hands and is now trading as DS Automotives.

If Steve mapped the car then it might be work giving him a call.

Given that it dates back to GForce, it could be a GEMS, perhaps Sigma, perhaps Simtek, don't think Steve ever remapped the OE ECUs in the MY97-98 cars but I may be wrong there, apologies to Steve if I am!

It is also possible that the ECU that was in it at the time of the receipt from GForce is no longer present. The fact it seems to be flashing out normal JECS fault codes suggests it is an OE ECU, which at first sight seems at odds with Steve mapping it (but like I said, I could be wrong on that count).

Cheers,

Pat.

ECU is normally located in the passenger footwell.

I dunno whether the contact details I have for Steve are business or personal, so I'm reluctant to pass them on, but he does post on here, so you should be able to get hold of him by PM, think the user name you want is steve rally.

Hope this helps,

Pat.
