Newbie Catalunya help
HI ALL,
This is my first post after recently purchasing a Impreza Turbo Catalunya 97. (UK car)
Am I right in saying this would be a facelift Version 4?
First I want to change the dials to some white Lockwood ones and have noticed they also produce some matching heater control dials. Can't seem to find a set to fit mine as my AC contols have a single dial on either side of lever switches.
Unlike the three dial setup on sale for the earlier model.
So can I change my controls and surround for the earlier ones as pictured. Can I still change the illumination colors in these older units.
Secondly, unlike most users I wish to convert to a Double Din radio and whilst I am at it I might bin the time clock mounted between the heater controls and radio.
In addition I like the look of the center triple gauge pod, will this fit my car or again need modification. I do not have the dash pocket above the center vents.
So you know my needs but what are my options in converting the center console.
Please help.

Your car is a MY97, if it was an STI, it would be a V3.
The dash clocks are the earlier ones, you couldn't just change the heater controls, you'd need to change the heater box and wiring as yours are servo operated, the earlier ones in the lower pics are mechanical.
The dial kit is still the earlier one and that would be no problem to change, there is nothing to change on your heater controls.
The centre gauge pod wouldn't fit unfortunately, you could make it fit but it would look crap IMO.
The double din conversion would be easier, get the earlier radio mount and fascia with the cup holders, a 10 minute bolt on job to do

So can I complete all of these modifications into my car.
A new dash with the top compartment for the gauges that will also accomadate the three dial heater controls with centre console for double din.
Or are these seperate modifications unique to different interiors.
Someone must have done this job before.
Please help

Thanks for your comments and hello fellow cat owner.
Well this doesn’t appear very promising. I expected modifications such as this to be straight forward.
Am I right in saying Icould change the dash. One with the top compartment for the gauges that will also accommodate the three dial heater controls with centre console for double din.
Not overly keen on mounting gauges to the pillar.
