Default Servicing Help.

Hi I'm going to do my first service on the Subaru since I bought it.

The car is an Impreza STI v4 98 Import, its got 66k on the clock with previously full service history. So I'm assuming all it needs is an oil change?

Car is used for fast road and a monthly track day + weekend blasts.

Oil: Silkolene Pro S 10w50 (Roger Clark Motorsport - RCM Product Detail)
Oil Filter: Genuine Subaru oil filter (Roger Clark Motorsport - RCM Product Detail)

My question. What's the difference between the above oil filter and this STI one which is double the cost? Scoobyparts Ltd GENUINE STI OIL FILTER

Just want to double check the Genuine Subaru OF will be fine for my purposes.

Also where is the Crank Sensor? I've heard underneath the alternator near the crank, anyone got a picture?

Thanks

Chris

When should i change Sparkplug/diff/tranny oil/coolant?

Brakes have already been full done, and engine copes fine on track so i assume the coolant is fine also. I believe these were both done at 60k service. will have to check my log tho.

Never changed my coolant except for when ther rad split.
imo if in doubt change all you need to do now.

My car (93wrx) is an everyday use car (never tracked) my oil gets changed twice a year, spark plugs once every 2 years.
Not sure on the difference between the various parts you've linked to tbh.

Usual practice is to replace coolant every 2 years.

If you have no idea when it was last change, best to do it, then you won't have to worry for a couple of years and will have peace of mind, etc...

Its a v4 so an MY98 car, its going to be nearly due or due its BIG service, ie everything, belts the lot, so you have 2 options, keep the service history up and take her to a speciallist/dealer or do the work yourself.
