Question Dawes device tweaking.

Could anyone help me with a Dawes device I have fitted to my car? I want to turn the boost down but don't want to touch anything in case I **** it all up.

Ideally someone near to me and I'll pop over to you and sort out a 'drink' for whoever can do it. Ta.

Thanks for the link but I'm not going to adjust it myself.

Why?
You've just put a post asking another enthusiast to do it. Or was you expecting a fully qualified mechanic to do it for a drink?
Its just like simply turning a tap on or off. There is no art to it.

Joey, I'm leaving it for someone who knows what they're doing.

fitting it is the hardest part of the device...plus it should be set on the lowest setting to start with.

Put a dab of typex or similar on the top and bottom section to act as a guide to how much you turn it.
Slacken the lock ring or nut.
Unscrew ie anti clockwise for one full revolution.
Tighten lock ring.
Warm up and road test. I assume you have a boost guage. Running a Dawes/GBE without a boost guage is a bad thing and thoroughly NOT recommended.
If the boost is still too high take out another turn or half a turn until you get it where you want it.
It's a doddle.

With no boost guage, or one fitted temporarily to effect the fit, you are asking for trouble.
Before fitting a Dawes/GBE/one of the alternatives, you need to know what boost you are running, what boost you are setting to and I always then check the AFRs and listen for DET.
If that proceedure is not followed and you have no boost guage you are courting disaster.
