i got told that it had a pop and bang remap when i bought it and was told i will pop and bang in the OVERRUN and i went ok and went out to play and to eat some v power haha!!
driven the car for a couple of months and not really noticed anything?? some times on a gear change down from 3 to 2 and 2 to 1 i pops but not all the time??

This is how i understand it .......
When you lift off the throttle the ecu tells the injectors to cut the fuel and adjust the timing. The fuel comes back in at a certain RPM to stop the car stalling e.g 1050 rpm.
If your car was mapped for pops and bangs then the mapper would probly turn the cut off rpm to 5000 ish and retard the timing.
In other words put fuel in without making it combust so it gets in your nice hot exhaust and goes POP.

If you have it mapped, ask the mapper to map in some mild anti-lag, its possible on Ecu'tek, its not the full blown anti-lag you get from an aftermarket ECU, but it sounds good when it kicks in.
Some fit a little LED which flashes when its enabled so you can actually drive around it if your town driivng etc.
Its done by altering timing etc

i dont know why, but mine is popping and banging all the time. with the h&s sytem it sounds awesome, but it seems like the car has had a remap. i certainly havnt done it, and when i bought the car it was a bog standard sti. so i dont know why mine does it.

It might be running slightly rich mate, can cause it sometimes as far as im aware.
Do you get a nice wiff of petrol on hard acceleration or anything, this could confirm it running rich. You need a fvckin gas mask in mine sometimes..lol
